Announcing the CRIE

The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) has a new entry-level certification for those conducting indoor environmental assessments.  This new certification does not require field experience and is intended as the first step toward becoming an accredited professional IAQ/IEQ investigator.

The Council-certified Residential Indoor Environmentalist (CRIE) must successfully pass a closed-book examination that covers topics relevant to residential indoor environmental investigations – including identifying IAQ/IEQ contaminants, their sources and health effects.  The examinations are conducted at one of the more than 600 approved proctoring locations around the world.

Candidates for the CRIE can self-study; however, ACAC recommends those seeking training courses to contact our office for an independent course provider near you or search those accredited by the Foundation for Accredited Learning (www.accreditedlearning.org)

ACAC was founded more than twenty years ago.  It is the only credentialing body with independently-accredited programs through the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB) for those who specialize in assessment and remediation of the indoor environment.  Find more information about ACAC at www.acac.org
